Tokyo stocks extend 3-day losing run

Mubasher: Tokyo stocks extended their downward trend for the third straight day.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended down 099% to 18,191.32 points, its lowest since 20 October.

The broader Topix index finished 1.1% lower at 1,488.84, while JPX-Nikkei Index 400 fell 1% to 13,412.15.

Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said the government gave priority to economy over the last three years, adding that Japan has not fully overcome deflation.

Abe also said he aims to endorse an early supplementary budget of about $29 billion in order to achieve a dynamic start.
