Riyadh - Mubasher: The total shares traded on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) rose 40.6%, or SAR 21.7 billion, during the week ended 30 June 2016 comparing to the week before.
The rise was backed by the purchases of Saudi investors by SAR 20.74 billion, representing 95.52% of total buying activity.
Saudi investors sales reached SAR 20.86 billion, representing 96.08% of total selling activity.
GCC investors purchased shares worth SAR 306 million, which represents 1.41% of the total buying activity, and sold SAR 260 million worth of shares, representing 1.20% of total selling on Tadawul.
Foreign investors achieved SAR 666 million purchases, totalling 3.07% of total buying, but sold shares worth SAR 592 million, representing 2.73% of sales.
Total market capitalisation decreased 0.59% to stand at SAR 1,504.35 billion in the last week of June compared to the preceding week.
Saudi investors’ total ownership recorded 93.24% of the total market capitalisation as of 30 June 2016, representing an increase of 0.01% from the previous week, while GCC investors stood at 2.56% and foreign investors at 4.21%.
