Transforming KSA to global logistics hub boosts non-oil GDP 5% - Al Amudi

Riyadh - Mubasher: Nabeel Al Amudi, Saudi minister of transport, said that the strategic plan of transforming Saudi Arabia to a global logistic hub that the ministry started applying since the beginning of 2017 will increase non-oil gross domestic product (GDP) 5% by 2021.

Al Amudi said in the “Saudi Supply Chain Conference” opening speech on Monday that the kingdom’s resolution of diversifying its economic base and developing its non-oil exports was no longer an option, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

KSA aims at raising its position on the logistic service performance index to 25th rank instead of the 49th globally, and increasing non-oil exports to 50% from 16% at least.
