Transport, telecoms push QSE down at Monday’s open

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) fell 0.2% or 18.58 points to reach 9,169.51 points in Monday’s early trades.

By 9:44 am Qatar time, most of the sectors declined, led by the transportation sector with 0.92% as Qatar Gas Transport Company Ltd (Nakilat) decreased 1.88%.

The telecoms sector shed 0.55% after Vodafone Qatar and Ooredoo lost 1.15% and 0.43%, respectively.

The industrial sector tumbled 0.19% as Aamal went down 0.96%.

Al Khalij Commercial Bank topped losers with 2.62%, whereas National Leasing Holding (Alijarah) was the best performer with a rise of 1.71%.

Traded volume reached 356,400 shares with a liquidity of QAR 6.94 million through 159 transactions.

Gulf International Services' stock led in terms of trading volume with 156,220 shares exchanged at a turnover of QAR 3.3 million.
