Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s minister of transport on Sunday put the cornerstone for the three-bridge construction project in Daqahlia governorate.
Valued at a combined EGP 340 million, the bridges will help reduce traffic bottlenecks in cities situated on the Benha-Mansoura road, Hesham Arafat revealed.
The minister, accompanied by Daqahlia governor Ahmed El Shaarawy, also checked up on other underway bridges, according to a statement by the Ministry of Transport.
The new bridges will better connect governorates and absorb the forecast growth in cars and traffic, Arafat added.
In October, the minister said that the Ministry of Transport was planning to develop the transport sector by establishing new roads and bridges worth EGP 72.7 billion.
