Tunisia inks 4 agreements with AFDB

Mubasher: Tunisia's development and investment ministry signed four agreements with the African Development Bank (AFDB).

The first agreement is to grant Tunisia TND 2.2 million to boost the competitiveness of textile industry and local economy.

The second accord is to develop the roads and improve traffic at the targeted areas, which will help enhance economy. The project will cost TND 842 million, TND 317 million of which will be secured by AFDB and TND 101 million will be raised from the Chinese fund AGTF.

The ministry also signed an agreement to raise a TND 400 million loan, at an interest rate of 0.4% and payment period of 20 years and a grace period of five years. The loan is to support regional development and creation of jobs.

The fourth contract is to offer the ministry of industry TND 2.2 million as a grant to map out an industrial policy for renewal.
