Tunisia’s inflation level highest in 2 decades

Mubasher: Inflation in Tunisia went up to 6.9% in January, the highest level on an annual basis in 20 years.

Inflation rose by 0.5%, after registering 6.4% in December, as shown by official data on Tuesday.

The surge in consumer prices comes as the government is applying austerity measures to reduce the budget deficit, including the introduction of new taxes.
