Two property funds eye listing on Boursa Kuwait end-2019

Mubasher: Two property funds, which are currently being developed, are in talks with the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) to get listed on Boursa Kuwait, the bourse’s acting CEO Mohammad Al Osaimi told Al-Anba newspaper.

Each fund has a non-controlling stake of no less than KWD 15 million, the minimum value of listing, Al-Osaimi said.

The stock market has assigned a team for listing companies on the Premier and Main markets based on the companies decisions, he highlighted.

According to MSCI Inc., inactive liquidity in Boursa Kuwait amounts to $2.7 billion, and active liquidity is more than that, he added.

Al Osaimi further noted that Boursa Kuwait will launch several projects in the coming period, including the short-selling to be kicked off next week.

He also indicated that the MSCI Emerging Market (EM) Index requires conformity to complete the upgrade conditions.

Moreover, he hoped that trading on margin on eligible investment companies and brokerages would be ready by the end of the year.

On Tuesday, the US-based index compiler MSCI had upgraded Boursa Kuwait on its EM Index.
