Two sectors push QSE up at close Thursday

Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Thursday in the green zone after increasing 2.04% or 190 points to reach 9,469.93 points.

The industrials sector rose 2.57% as Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC) went up 5.6% and Industries Qatar levelled up 2.54%.

The financial sector gained 2.46% after Qatar Oman Investment Company, Qatar National Bank (QNB), and Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) grew 4.24%, 4.19%, and 2.69%, respectively.

The real estate sector increased 1.73% as Ezdan Holding Group rose 2.28% and Mazaya Qatar went up 1.7%.

On the other hand, the consumer goods and services sector decreased 0.45% and the transportation sector edged down 0.01%.

Trading volume increased to 17.49 million shares on Thursday against 12.78 million shares on Wednesday, while liquidity rose to QAR 433.04 million from QAR 413.53 million.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock led in terms of trading volume with 7.1 million shares exchanged at a turnover of QAR 60.8 million, levelling up 4.4%.

Earlier on Thursday, the QSE’s main index went up 1.73% or 160.13 points, reaching 9,440.51 points.
