Two sectors push up QSE at Wednesday’s close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Wednesday in the green zone after gaining 0.19% or 19.45 points, reaching 10,144.89 points.

The banks sector rose 0.65% as Dlala Brokerage and Investment Holding, Commercial Bank of Qatar (CBQ), and Qatar National Bank (QNB) increased 3%, 2.94%, and 1%, respectively.

The consumer goods and services sector inched up 0.05% after Mannai Corporation went up 2.87% and Salam International Investment Ltd levelled up 0.19%.

On the flipside, five sectors fell as the insurance sector decreased 1.4%, followed by the telecoms sector with 0.24%.

The industrials sector dropped 0.21% after Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding and Industries Qatar declined 0.76% and 0.60%, respectively.

Traded volume rose to 9.33 million shares on Wednesday against 8.56 million shares on Tuesday, whereas liquidity tumbled to QAR 226.2 million from QAR 243.56 million.

Qatar First Bank (QFB) led in terms of trading volume with 2.66 million shares exchanged, while QNB was the most active stock in terms of trading value with a liquidity of QAR 39.31 million.

Earlier on Wednesday, the benchmark index shed 0.22% to reach 10,102.81 points.
