Two sectors send DFM up in March 1st session

Dubai — Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed Sunday, the first session of March, in the green territory, buoyed by the investment and real estate sectors.

The DFM’s general index inched up 0.25%, or 6.56 points, to finish the first session of the week at 2,642.34 points.

Turnover amounted to AED 107.902 million after 84.936 million shares exchanged hands through 1,598 transactions.

The investment sector grew 1.39% after Dubai Investments added 2.34%, while the real estate sector inched up 0.92% as Damac Properties and Emaar Malls jumped 5.8% and 1.71%, respectively.

The banks sector slightly rose 0.02%.

On the flipside, the transportation sector dipped 2.05% after Aramex and Air Arabia declined 3.19% and 0.84%, respectively.

The consumer staples sector shed 0.99%.
