Mubasher: U.S. oil inventories fell 3.3 million barrels in the week ended 12 February, according to the data released by the American Petroleum Institute (API) on Wednesday.
The inventories increased by 3.1 million barrels last week, Wall Street Journal earlier reported.
Oil markets are awaiting official data to be released on Thursday by the API.
