Cairo – Mubasher: U.S. stock markets kicked off Wednesday with a strong rise as the Federal Reserve rate-decision looms.
The Federal Reserve’s rate decision is due at 2 p.m. Eastern Time, followed by a news conference at 2:30 p.m.
At 2:45 GMT, Dow Jones Industrial rose by 0.7%, while S&P Index added 0.5%.
NASDAQ Composite advanced by 0.4%.
The dollar index rose against a basket of major currencies by 0.4% to 98.22 points.
