UAE, Indonesia firms ink $9.7bn agreements

UAE – Mubasher: Indonesian and Emirati firms have signed agreements worth a combined $9.7 billion on the sidelines of a state visit by Abu Dhabi crown prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Jakarta, Reuters reported.

During the official visit, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) signed a comprehensive strategic framework (CSF) agreement with Indonesia’s state-owned energy company PT Pertamina to explore ways of oil and gas collaboration in both countries and globally.

The CSF agreement has a potential value of $2.5 billion, the Indonesian foreign ministry said in a statement.

Moreover, Indonesia’s Chandra Asri Petrochemical signed an agreement with the Abu Dhabi-based investment company Mubadala and Austrian energy firm OMV to explore developments in petrochemicals, the three companies announced in a joint statement.

Furthermore, Indonesia’s Maspion Group signed an agreement with Dubai Port World to establish a container terminal in Gresik in East Java at a value of $1.2 billion.
