UAE, South Africa ink double taxation avoidance deal

Dubai-Mubasher: UAE has signed an agreement with South Africa for avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion, said Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The joint agreement came with respect to taxes on income and capital gains, and its annexed protocol.

WAM said that the deal was inked by Hamad Hareb Al Habsi, UAE ambassador to South Africa, and South Africa's finance minister Nhlanhla Nene.

The news agency added that “the agreement will go into force once approved by the competent authorities in both countries.”
