UAE, UK lead rising FDI in Oman - NCSI

Mubasher: Foreign direct investments (FDI) in Oman increased by 15% to a total of OMR 9.4 billion ($24.4 billion) in the fourth quarter of 2017, up from OMR 8.1 billion ($21 billion) in Q4-16.

The United Kingdom was the biggest foreign direct investor with OMR 4.5 billion in 2017, as shown by the data of the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) came in second with an investment of OMR 1.028 billion, followed by Kuwait with OMR 416.5 million, Qatar with OMR 388 million, Bahrain with OMR 337.3 million, the United States with OMR 293.9 million, India with 280.6 million, and Switzerland with OMR 277.1 million.
