Dubai – Mubasher: The UAE’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) on Wednesday announced that more than 210,000 local domain names were registered at the .ae domain in 2017, which exceeds the domain’s target.
"The success of the national domain reflects the excellence and reliability of the domain in the UAE,” said Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, TRA’s acting director-general.
This number also reflects investors’ confidence in the UAE’s domain and its rule in enhancing the investment environment, Al Mesmar added.
"We have been able to exceed the target number of registered domain names by the end of 2017, which consists a great incentive for us to proceed with the success,” Mohammad Al Zarooni, director of the TRA’s Policies and Programs Department, commented.
