Dubai – Mubasher: The UAE inflation increased in in August by 0.55% year-on-year, according to a report published by National Bureau of Statistics on Monday.
The consumer price index (CPI) reached 127.9 points in August 2016, versus 127.2 points in August 2015.
On a monthly basis, the country’s CPI, however, declined in August by 0.28%.
Food and soft drink prices rose 1.7% year-on-year and prices of clothing and footwear grew by 6% y-o-y.
The education group saw a price rise of 3.8% y-o-y, while the cost of domestic transportation decreased 12.11% y-o-y.
