Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) has announced that it will introduce a new AED 100 banknote with improved anti-counterfeiting elements.
The new refined banknote will be launched on Tuesday, according to a statement released by the UAE’s central bank.
Amongst the security features of the AED 100 banknote is the galaxy three-dimensional threads along with the colour-changing element. However, the design remains unchanged.
These measures are aimed at foiling counterfeiting and fraud, the statement highlighted.
The old version of the AED 100 note will stay in circulation alongside the newly-issued one, the bank added.
