UAE – Mubasher: The Central Bank of the UAE has decided to reissue “Year of Zayed” commemorative silver coins to meet the increasing demand.
The central bank will issue around 5,000 silver commemorative coins weighing 60 grammes, according to the bank’s recent statement.
The newly issued coins will be available for sale at the central bank’s main office and branches as of Monday, 22 April.
The step aims to pay tribute to the visionary leadership of the UAE and “reinforce the history from which the people of the UAE derive their unique identity.”
“It is very important to commemorate the Zayed Centenary and recognise his essential contribution to the rise and progress of the UAE,” Mubarak Rashid Al Mansouri, governor of the Central Bank of the UAE, commented.
