UAE E-City eyes expanding presence in UAE, GCC

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: E-City, the UAE-based electronics retail firm, announced the opening of one of its largest stores in Abu Dhabi.

The company noted that it will launch four more E-City stores in early 2019 with two in the emirate of Dubai.

E-City has already stores in Abu Dhabi’s Marina Mall, Sahara Mall, and Al Zahiya shopping centre.

The new store comes along with the firm’s AED 67 million expansion bid, which includes a significant investment in their soon to be launched e-commerce venture, Arabian Business reported.

Moreover, the UAE-based electronics retailer seeks to boost footprint in GCC countries, particularly Saudi Arabia and Oman markets.

“We are proud to announce that our strategic expansion drive in the GCC market has officially begun. E-City’s expansion bid is firmly anchored on reinforcing the brand’s presence in the UAE and GCC as a whole. The region’s ballooning demand for electronic goods is our main driver,” Jaouad Dakir, CEO of E-City, said.

It also eyes recording an average between 20% and 25% growth in sales, while recruiting an additional 120 staff over the coming six months.
