UAE-Egypt trade exchange hits $3bn in 2018 – Trade minister

Cairo – Mubasher: Bilateral trade between the UAE and Egypt amounted to $3 billion, of which $1.9 billion are Egyptian exports and $1.1 billion are Emirati imports, the Egyptian minister of trade and industry, Amr Nassar said in a statement on Wednesday.

He further commended Emirati and Egyptian business organisations in bolstering bilateral trade and economic ties while spurring investments.

The announcement came during the ‘Egypt and UAE Forum for Trade and Investment’ which was attended by top-tier officials from both countries.

The ongoing cooperation between the two governments has backed the higher trade exchange during 2018.

Nassar further noted the importance of establishing a new roadmap with the aim of reaching a comprehensive strategic partnership.

He also pinpointed the two countries’ efforts in enhancing industrial collaboration not only on a bilateral scale but also on a regional level, particularly with African markets where higher investments returns are guaranteed
