UAE MoF, AMF organise Arab Regional Tax Forum

Dubai – Mubasher: The UAE’s Ministry of Finance (MoF) on Sunday announced the organisation of the Arab Regional Tax Forum, in collaboration with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) and the International Tax and Investment Centre (ITIC).

The forum will take place during the period between 31 March and 1 April at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai, the MoF said in a statement.

Senior officials from the MoF, top tax policy and administration officials from all AMF member states, senior tax and finance executives from multinational enterprises, tax experts from international organisations, and renowned public finance academics attended the event, opened by Abdulrahman Al Hamidy, director general of AMF.

The gathering highlighted ways of balancing tax policies, Arab countries’ competitiveness in managing them, as well as the challenges facing these nations in pursuing their tax policies.

On the sidelines of the two-day event, Khalid Ali Al Bustani, director general of the FTA, noted that the forum will be beneficial to all Arab countries through the discussion and knowledge-sharing on key issues.

The event will also tackle other topics related to the application of tax systems in the Arab world, including application and enforcement of VAT and GST in the Arab region and innovations in tax administration, the statement said.
