UAE-Singapore discuss boosting investments - Minister

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The UAE’s minister of economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri and Singapore’s senior minister of state Koh Poh Koon on Sunday discussed economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting between the two officials touched on the different investment opportunities in the coming period under the bilateral cooperation between their respective countries, an official statement by the UAE’s Ministry of Economy showed.

Al Mansouri said that the UAE government was focusing on many sectors such as transportation and energy.  

The two ministers discussed the possibilities and opportunities for developing a partnership in the halal industry, the UAE ministry added.  

The relationships between the UAE and Singapore are seeing a considerable development driven by the mutual desire between the two countries to promote this cooperation, Al Mansouri noted.

Non-oil trade between the UAE and Singapore reached $5 billion by the end of 2016, while Singaporean investments in the UAE reached $2.4 billion by the end of 2015.
