UAE acquires 31.5% of Middle East total exports in 2015 – WTO

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The United Arab Emirates acquired 31.5% of the Middle East's total exports in 2015, compared to 24% in 2014, according to a report by the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

The UAE remains one of the world's top trading economies, ranking 20th globally and first in the Middle East and Africa in commodity exports, the report said.

The report stated that UAE ranked the 19th internationally in commodity imports and the first in the Mena region in overall commodity trade, with regional exports totalling $265 billion to account for 1.6% of the worldwide total in 2015.

According to WTO, the UAE placed the 20th globally and first in the Arab World in terms of service trade, with service imports worth $68 billion, representing 1.9% of the world total trade.
