Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The UAE’s active mobile connections grew 4.8% reaching 17.78 million subscriber in the 10-month period ended October 2015, up from 16.82 million subscriber for the same period a year earlier, according to UAE Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA) .
Active mobile subscriptions only is defined by any subscriber who has made or received a voice or video call in the preceding 90 days, or has sent an SMS or MMS during that period.
The report pointed out that, the number of new subscribers went up 2.25% m-o-m in October 2015.
Meanwhile, the number of fixed line subscriptions stood at 2.15 million in October 2015.
