UAE allocates AED 24m to create private-sector jobs for Emiratis

UAE - Mubasher: The UAE government has allocated AED 24 billion to create 75,000 private-sector jobs for UAE citizens, as part of the second package of Projects of the 50, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, announced.

Under the initiative, the UAE government has also requested the private sector's companies to employ Emirati nationals at 10% of their positions over five years.

The 10% target for private-sector workers to be Emiratis will start with 2% and 4% in the first and second years, respectively.

As part of the Projects of the 50 initiative, an AED 1 billion graduate fund will be granted to university students and fresh graduates to launch their businesses.
