Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Loans secured by banks operating in the UAE increased by 5%, or AED 74.1 million, in January.
Total loans recorded AED 1.662 trillion in the first month of 2019, compared to AED 1.587 trillion in the same month a year earlier, according to the UAE Central Bank’s statement on Tuesday.
Loans granted to the private sector levelled up 4% year-on-year to AED 1.134 trillion during January, while public sector loans increased 9%, registering AED 193 billion.
