Dubai-Mubasher: Total bank deposits in the UAE increased by AED 31.5 billion ($8.58 billion) during March, the UAE central bank said in a statement.
This growth resulted from an AED 19.9 billion ($5.42 billion) increase in resident deposits as well as an AED 11.6 billion ($3.16 billion) rise in non-resident deposits, the central bank added.
“Gross bank assets, including bankers’ acceptances, increased by 1.2%, rising from AED 2462.2 billion at the end of February 2016 to AED billion at the end of March 2016,” according to the statement.
Meanwhile, gross credit edged up 0.9 %, rising to AED 1517.5 billion at the end of March 2016 from AED 1503.7 billion at the end of February 2016.
