UAE banking brand value grows 10% in 2016

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: The total brand values of UAE banks rose 9.7% to $9.6 billion in 2016, compared to $8.8 billion last year, according to a report released by the Banker.

The UAE ranked 20th place in the list of top 50 countries in terms of its total banking brand value in 2016.

Emirates NBD’s brand value reached $2.186 billion, coming in the 4th place in the list of top 10 most valuable brands in the Middle

National Bank of Abu Dhabi was positioned at 5th place with $1.538 billion worth of brand value, while First Gulf Bank and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank ranked the 7th and 8th position with brand value worth $1.376 billion and $1.232 billion, respectively.

The Banker added that the banking brand value rose 5.7% to reach $988.3 billion in 2016, despite lower oil prices.

Wells Fargo remains the world’s most valuable bank brand in the Banker’s Brand Finance Banking 500 list in 2016, with total value standing at $44.2 billion.
