Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The overall assets of the banking sector in the UAE stood at AED 2.515 trillion by the end of July 2016, 0.1% down from AED 2.518 trillion by June 2016, according to recent data issued by the UAE central bank.
Gross banking credit fell 0.2% month-on-month to AED 1.540 trillion in July from AED 1.543 trillion in June.
The UAE banks’ total deposits decreased by AED 7 billion, the central bank noted.
On the central bank’s level, assets grew 0.83% to AED 367.79 billion by the end of July as compared to AED 364.75 billion by the end of the previous month.
The central bank’s overall deposits shrank by AED 5.16 billion to reach AED 60.16 billion by the end of July from AED 65.32 billion by the end of June.
