UAE boosts AI adoption with new drive

Abu Dhabi — Mubasher: The UAE has launched a new Think AI initiative in a bid to speed up the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and its uses in the country’s various key strategic sectors.

The UAE’s Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence Omar Sultan Al Olama announced the campaign on the sidelines of signing an agreement to launch the series of roundtables, workshops and panel discussions, Arabian Business reported on Thursday.

Think AI will see the participation of officials and representatives from the public and private sectors along with experts from local and international organisations.

The UAE government is “very much working towards accelerating the pace of AI adoption through strategic partnerships with both the public and private sectors,” Al Olama said.

The roundtable meetings held by Think AI seek to develop comprehensive dialogues and ideas that step up the UAE’s efforts towards expediting the adoption of AI in key sectors such as infrastructure, governance and legal legislation, according to Arabian Business.

“The AI roundtables we will co-host with the Government Accelerators would be the first of its kind in Dubai with the objective of identifying mechanisms for government, private sector, and tech startups to seamlessly collaborate around the AI agenda... We are excited to be part of this journey,” Wasim Khan, MENA Advisory Leader, EY, commented.
