UAE bourses see thin liquidity – Analysts

By: Mahmoud Gamal

Dubai – Mubasher: The UAE stock markets are suffering from low liquidity in the recent period due to the absence of institutional investments and control of speculations, amid anticipations for new catalysts like first-quarter results.

Traders do not have the desire to increase their investment positions amid anxiety over first-quarter results, negatively affecting the UAE bourses in the past sessions, capital market analyst Salem Al Neweiri told Mubasher.

Fluctuation of liquidity is normal amid speculations on some stocks, in addition to volatile performance on global stocks, Al Neweiri noted.

Liquidity is expected to be weak in the coming period, amid expectations that the markets will decline on the long-term due to the blurry vision of global exchanges, capital market analyst Mohamed Al Azmi said.
