Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The UAE's Sandooq Al Watan (National Fund) has received a new contribution amounting to AED 2 million from Emirati businessman Yousef Mohammed Ali Al Nowais.
Seeking to support the fund and its strategic objectives to build a sustainable knowledge economy in the UAE, Al Nowais called on UAE businessmen, residents, and all national and international companies to support the fund, according to a statement released Monday.
The UAE's National Fund has pledged to support research and development projects that are of strategic priority for the UAE.
"The fund has set a plan to cooperate with its partners from private sector to create an environment that encourages talented individuals to innovate in research-related fields," the statement added.
“Contribution to Sandooq Al Watan is the least we can do to repay our country for all that it has given us,” Al Nowais said.
“Under the forward-thinking vision and policies of our wise leadership, this nation has come to enjoy a quality of life, safety, and stability that are rare to come across elsewhere. Sandooq Al Watan is a unique initiative that embodies the values of unity and cohesion, and helps preserve and multiply the UAE’s achievements,” he added.
