UAE c.bank gold assets drop to AED 1.13bn in October

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Central Bank of the UAE's (CBUAE) gold assets fell by 3.5% or AED 42 million in October 2016 to reach AED 1.13 billion, from AED 1.17 billion by the end of September, according to official data released by the bank.

However, the Central Bank succeeded in adding new gold bullion bars worth AED 189 million in the first 10 months of 2016, up 20.1% year-on-year, according to a statement released Monday.

The bank previously lifted his gold assets in the first nine months of the year to AED 1.17 billion from AED 940 million by the end of December 2015.

By the end of October 2016, assets of the precious metal account for 0.32% of the CBUAE's total assets of AED 350.5 billion in the by the end of the same period, according to statistics by Mubasher.
