Dubai – Mubasher: The total value of the current 7,878 construction projects in the UAE reached AED 836 billion ($227.9 billion) in September 2017.
The value of the super-tall buildings reached $100.5 billion, while the medium-tall buildings amounted to $64.5 billion, and low-rise buildings reached $62.9 billion, according to Business News for Construction (BNC).
The northern emirates hold 3,857 projects worth $42.6 billion, followed by Dubai with 2,812 projects at $121.1 billion, and Abu Dhabi with 1,208 projects at $64.3 billion.
Construction projects in the UAE are moving according to plan, backed by the increasing demand for real estate in the next few years, which is influenced by the Expo 2020, Avin Gidwani, CEO of BNC network, said.
Most owners and developers are looking conclude their projects before October 2020, as Dubai is expecting 20 million hotel guests and 25 million visitors for the Expo, Gidwani added.
