Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: The energy sector witnessed a remarkable development this year, especially with the launch of operations at Ruwais Refinery project, sour gas development project and many infrastructure projects that will help to achieve the sector's sustainability, said UAE’s Minister of Energy Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei.
On the sidelines of celebrations held for the UAE's 44th National Day, he added that the liberalisation of fuel prices reflected positively on the national economy as it improved competitiveness, as well as creating healthy investment environment for the sector.
The UAE has won a bid to host the World Energy Congress in September 2019, he said, adding that it will become the first OPEC country to host the globally-reputed event.
In 2016, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum will launch the second phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, a vast complex with an output capacity of 1,000 megawatts by 2030.
