UAE - Mubasher: The UAE's food and beverage exports increased by 10% to AED 22 billion in 2019, compared to AED 20 billion in 2018, according to the latest statistics by the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority (FCSA).
The value of the country's food imports declined to AED 24 billion, weighed 3.6 billion tonnes, in 2019 from AED 25.3 billion, with a weight of 4 billion tonnes, in the earlier year.
Meanwhile, The UAE's re-exported food products registered AED 9 billion during 2019, down from AED 10 billion in 2018, while a total weight reaching 640 million tonnes, compared to 600 million tonnes in 2018.
During the last two years, the total value of food and beverage trade in the UAE amounted to AED 55 billion with an average of AED 151 million per day.
