UAE foreign assets rise 13% by end-September

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The UAE’s total foreign assets grew 13% year-on-year by the end of September 2016, according to a statement by the UAE Central Bank.

Total foreign assets reached AED 301.57 billion by the end of September 2016, compared to AED 267.10 billion ($72.7 billion) during the prior-year period.

Total foreign assets rose 0.75% month-on-month by the end of September 2016, compared to AED 299.31 billion as at 31 August 2016.

Current account balances and deposits with banks abroad totalled AED 126.96 by the end of September 2016, a 7.4% rise from AED 118.23 billion by the end of August 2015.
