Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: Free zone exports in the UAE grew by 6.6% in 2017, reaching a total of AED 225.5 billion, as shown by the annual report of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE).
The free zone exports accounted for 19.5% of the country's total exports last year, with a total share of the Emirati trade balance.
This is a strong recovery for the free zones activity, as it reached AED 221.3 billion in 2015, then declined to AED 211.4 billion in 2016, before rising again in 2017.
