UAE gov’t grants equal holidays to private sector

Dubai – Mubasher: The UAE government has approved a list of public holidays for the public sector for the years 2019-2020, allowing for the equality between the public and private sectors in holidays.

Unlike the private sector, the Emirati public sector was used to enjoy 14 days off.

“The decision will contribute to streamlining work in both the public and private sectors, and enhance the attractiveness of the private sector for Emiratis,” the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

Public holidays for the public and private sectors in 2019 will include Eid Al Fitr, Arafah Day, Eid Al Adha, Hijri New Year, Commemoration Day, and National Day.
