Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The UAE Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded a 0.07% rise in the inflation rate in August 2017, influenced by the rise in transportation, communications and household goods.
The rise in air transport prices and fuel prices was the main factor in pushing the prices of the transportation group up 1.4%, according to the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority.
Meanwhile, the prices of furniture and household goods increased 0.4%, and the communication prices went up 0.3%.
On the other hand, the prices of housing, water, electricity and gas, as well as education prices remained stable in August, while the prices of clothing and footwear dropped 1.02%, and the medical care prices declined by 0.03%.
