UAE international reserves grow 8.69% in 8M

Mubasher: The gross international reserves in the UAE reported a rise of 8.69% or AED 26.85 billion in the first eight months of 2017, according to the latest statistics issued by the Central Bank of the UAE.

International reserves in the UAE increased by 2.52% or AED 8.25 billion to AED 335.74 billion in August compared to AED 327.497 billion in July.

The higher reserves in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) backed the foreign exchange reserves in the UAE during this time, the central bank added.

Held-to-maturity securities increased to AED 95.02 billion in August.

The UAE banks’ current accounts and deposits abroad rose to AED 237.97 billion.
