UAE introduces visit visa fee exemptions for tourist dependents

Dubai - Mubasher: The UAE has announced a new two-month exemption for dependents of tourists travelling to the GCC nation on holiday.

The decision, approved late on Sunday by the UAE’s cabinet, will exempt accompanying dependents of foreign tourists under the age of 18 from visa fees during the period between 15 July to 15 September each year.

It is worth noting that the number of passengers through the UAE’s airports totalled 43.9 million travellers in the first quarter of 2018.

The Gulf country’s airports saw around 11.05 million travellers in April, compared to 11.4 million in March. The number of passengers hit 11.35 million and 10 million in January and February 2018, respectively, according to recent data by the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).

Early in June, the UAE’s cabinet approved exempting transit passengers from all entry fees just for the first 48 hours, with an extension option for to 96 hours for a fee of AED 50.
