Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: UAE’s Ministry of Energy issued a tender to study the expansion and development of state’s power grid, the ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for Electricity Affairs, Fatima Al Shamsi told Mubasher.
“Ten firms applied for the tender,” Al Shamsi said on the side-lines of seminar on World Water Day, but didn’t give more details about the companies.
Al Shamsi added that the tender winner will be named in April.
The UAE targets to make 24% of its energy comes from renewable sources by 2021.
