Dubai - Mubasher: Emirates labour market recorded a rise in the number of registered workers in the ministry of Labour by 6% y-o-y.
The health sector topped the chart for the second consecutive year amongst all economic sectors in terms of highest growth in employment rates, according to the latest statistic related to labour market thus compiled by the ministry of labour.
The number of registered employees at the ministry of labour reached with the end of 2015, about 4.7 million workers, compared with 4.417 million workers in 2014, said Humaid bin Deemas Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of labour affairs.
The rate of employment growth in the private sector are high compared to the rates registered worldwide, which ranges from 1% to 2%, which indicates that the labour market in the country is one of the most attractive markets, noted bin Deemas.
Meanwhile, the number of establishments registered with the ministry jumped to 325,000 facilities across the UAE, including 9500 facilities with large and medium employment numbers accounting to 51% of the total employment numbers in the UAE by 2.4 million workers.
