UAE money supply up 3.4% in March

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates announced on Monday that the Money Supply aggregate M1 rose last March by 3.4% to AED 490.3 billion from AED 474.4 billion in February.

Money Supply aggregate M2 also grew by 2% to 1.218 trillion in March, versus AED 1.194 trillion a month earlier.

Money Supply aggregate M3 increased by 1.6% to AED 1.373 trillion in March, compared to AED 1.351 trillion in February.

Gross bank assets reached AED 2.491 trillion last March, 1.2% up from AED 2.462 trillion in the previous month.

Total bank deposits increased 0.9% to AED 1.517 trillion from AED 1.503 trillion, as resident deposits surged by AED 19.9 billion and non-resident deposits rose by AED 11.6 billion, according to the bank’s statement.
