Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The UAE national banks’ assets increased by 2% in the first five months of 2018 to AED 2.37 trillion, which account for 85% of the total bank asset in the GCC country.
Meanwhile, assets of foreign banks operating in the UAE recorded AED 360.2 billion in May, according to a report released by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE).
Loans provided by UAE national banks reached AED 1.422 trillion in May, while foreign banks secured AED 194.9 billion in loans during the same period.
Moreover, national banks’ deposits registered AED 1.47 trillion in the fifth month of the year, while foreign banks’ deposits amounted to AED 201.2 billion, the CBUAE’s data showed.
