UAE non-oil foreign trade grows 3.2% in Q1

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The UAE Federal Customs Authority announced that the volume of the UAE’s non-oil foreign trade rose 3.2% year-on-year or AED 13 billion to AED 401 billion in the first quarter of 2017, compared to AED 388 billion in the prior-year period.

The value of the UAE’s imports from abroad grew 5.2% to AED 245 billion in Q1-17 from AED 233 billion in Q1-16, according to the authority’s statistics.

The statistics showed that the value of UAE’s exports stood at AED 46 billion, while the value of re-exports increased 7.4% to AED 110 billion from AED 102.4 billion.

The value of the UAE’s non-oil trade with the GCC states reached AED 45 billion, as Saudi Arabia topped the GCC states with a trade volume of AED 19.9 billion, followed by Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain with AED 7.3 billion, AED 7.1 billion, and AED 4.2 billion, respectively, according to statistics.
