Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: The United Arab Emirates population reached 9.3 million by the end of December, according to the Emirati Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority (FCSA).
This signals an annual population growth of 2%.
Males stood at 6.42 million, while females at reached 2.9 million, making the gender split at 69% male and 31% female, as reported by the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The UAE is among the first countries in the region to reveal the population count relying on national administrative data methodology.
This methodology has many advantages, such as very high accuracy, speed of processing and dissemination of data.
